COMPASS

Employment Pass candidates must meet the EP qualifying salary first, then pass COMPASS with at least 40 points unless exempt. Lowest invited CRS score: 40.

COMPASS Mechanics

EP candidates must first meet the qualifying salary, then score at least 40 COMPASS points unless exempt; the current exemption salary tracked here is S$22,500/mo. Fair Consideration Framework advertising remains a pre-application employer gate. Experienced shortage-tech professionals may qualify for a 5-year EP.

Application & Issuance Flow

MOM's current apply flow treats standard online EP applications as processed or updated within 10 business days. Cases for an overseas company without a Singapore-registered company are materially slower, with MOM quoting up to 6 weeks for most cases.

Notification Letter Mechanics

After issuance, MOM sends a notification letter that is valid for 1 month from issue. It allows the candidate to start work and travel in and out of Singapore while waiting for the card, and employers can request an extension if more time is needed for card-registration procedures.

Card Registration & Delivery

If the notification letter says fingerprint and photo registration is required, the candidate needs to complete it within 2 weeks after pass issuance at EPSC. MOM then delivers the EP card within 5 working days after registration or document verification.
